Dr. White is our practice manager, business owner, head veterinarian and when necessary, cage cleaner and floor mop person. He is a Colorado State University graduate, having done so with many distinctions. After two years in small animal practice, he was awarded a residency position in internal medicine at Michigan State University, and later, a research position at the University of Georgia. For seven years he taught internal medicine classes and conducted research involving drugs, diagnostics and nutritional management of kidney disease. His findings can be found in over 24 medical publications. This work was rewarding, but kept Dr. White away from his first love-- private practice. In 1989 he returned to Fort Collins with his wife, two daughters, two horses, two dogs, three cats, two birds, and a ferret to open the doors of Harmony Hospital for Pets!
Dr. Staples is a 1990 graduate of Colorado State University. She worked in Maine after graduation and then returned to Colorado to open her own small animal practice, Animal Haven Veterinary Clinic, which she owned from November 1991 to July 2004. She completed the Acupuncture Course in 2001 and routinely performs acupuncture on her animal patients. She sold her practice in 2004 while deployed overseas as an Army Reserve Veterinarian during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon her return, she started a veterinarian relief practice, filling in at clinics including Harmony Hospital for Pets. After another deployment to Afghanistan from November 2008 - June 2009, she joined the team at Harmony Hospital for Pets again. She is available on Wednesdays for appointments and acupuncture services.
